We're so excited to announce that we will be painting a 40-ft mandala on the street, in Downtown Ventura, in front of the mission on Thursday and Friday, September 19th and 20th from 10am-5pm.
River Sauvageau, of the Ojai Day Mandala, is team building and reaching out into the community to support this literally awesome project.
The Ventura Mandala is partially funded by the Buena Ventura Art Association. We are looking for more sponsorship in the community. We want your help in raising $4,000 to pay the facilitator and artists. As a sponsor, this is your opportunity to get in on the "ground floor" of this community project. This is the first time we are doing this and we know that it will draw a lot of attention, interest and appreciation for both Art Walk and the community of Ventura. It is powerful and impressive and once people see it they want more.
The Ventura Mandala will be painted in conjunction with Art walk, just before the event. It will last for one month before being washed off the street. Two weeks later the annual Ojai Day Mandala will be painted around the fountain in Libbey Park Saturday and Sunday, October 5th and 6th from 10m-5pm.
River's intention, which is developing into the Mandala Medicine Movement, is to have the two Mandalas existing simultaneously for two weeks. This provides an opportunity for people to visit them both and experience the connection of our communities through these powerful and beautiful mandalas.

Helpers, haulers, paint mixers, manning the paint table, people in the space who welcome and guide new people, feeding and watering us, photographers and videographers, set up and break down. Everybody has different skills and interests. and we welcome your special skill set to be part of this co-creation.
